Where Are They Now – Jamie Moran Veterinary Technician

Jamie Moran, Veterinary Technician graduate, admits enrolling in Rockford Career College was a big decision for her. “Going back to school in general was intimidating,” says Jamie. “I am not a school person, but I knew becoming a Veterinary Technician was what I wanted to do. Helping animals is a passion of mine.”

Despite the fear of classroom work and studies, Jamie enrolled in Rockford’s Veterinary Technician program, and thrived. She graduated from the program in May 2020, with not only her degree, but accolades to go with it.

“I was in high honors when I attended RCC (Rockford Career College) and thrived in the Veterinary Technician program,” says Jamie. “All of my teachers made it a very fun experience and I wouldn't be where I am today without them.”

Jamie says with her education she was able to realize her dream career. “My education prepared me for the Veterinary Technician National Exam. I was able to obtain my Certified Veterinary Technician License and have been practicing as a CVT since then. I passed the national exam 3 months after graduating from the program.”

Rockford Career College’s Veterinary Technician program focuses on the core subjects needed to become a Certified Veterinary Technician, including, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine/Critical Care, Pharmacy & Pharmacology, Pain Management/Analgesia, Dentistry, Laboratory Procedures, Diagnostic Imaging, Animal Care & Nursing and Surgical Nursing.

Jamie began her career shortly after graduation with Green Tree Animal Hospital.

Where is she now?

Jamie is a Certified Veterinary Technician at Forest Bluff Animal Hospital in Lake Bluff, Illinois.

“I love my career. I am looking forward to furthering my education now because of how happy I am being a CVT and how I did so well at Rockford Career College. I make a good living, and I am happy to wake up every day and go to work. I could not see myself doing anything else in life. This career has fulfilled me and makes me feel complete.”
