We Proudly Present Dental Assisting Graduate Branesha Cross
DATE On June 28, 2021

Branesha Cross graduated from our dental assisting program by focusing on the goals she had achieved and not dwelling on her mistakes. Branesha knows how easy it is to remember your shortcomings instead of your successes. However, she decided to remain positive and determined when it came to pursuing a new career. By studying hard, developing her practical skills, and completing an externship, Branesha overcame her doubts and graduated from RCC. “Don't dwell so often on your failures, but always focus on the accomplishments and goals you've achieved personally,” Branesha says.

What You Learn in a Dental Assisting Program

For each graduate highlight, we select three different courses to spotlight. During the program, Branesha took courses such as: Infection Control Measures, Dental Office Administration, Preventative Dentistry, and more.

In these courses, she studied:
• Pathogenic agents, mechanisms of disease transmission, personal protective equipment, and maintaining asepsis around the oral environment.
• Systems for information management, appointment scheduling, recalling, and inventory management.
• Preventative dentistry, nutrition, fluoride therapies, coronal polishing, and pit and fissure sealant placement.

A 160-hour externship in a clinical setting solidified her dental assisting skills. Completing lecture courses as well as practical experience allowed Branesha to become well-prepared for her new career.

How Our Graduate Became a Dental Assistant

Like Branesha, you too could become a dental assistant in just a matter of months and start your career journey in this interesting and necessary profession. Branesha made all of us at RCC extremely proud with her tremendous effort and perseverance. We are confident in your ability to succeed as well. As Branesha says, “Remind yourself, the struggles we endure each day are to mold us for the person we were meant to become.”
