We Proudly Present Paralegal AAS Graduate Holden Webb

“Working hard is important. But there is something that matters even more: believing in yourself.” This quote from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series kept Holden Webb going even when his career path felt challenging.¹ By believing in his abilities and the good he could do for others as a paralegal, Holden completed both our diploma and Associate of Applied Science degree programs. We are extremely proud of him for graduating with his associate degree and beginning a new career serving others. 

What You Learn in a Paralegal Studies Associate Degree Program

For each graduate of a program, we highlight three different courses. During the paralegal studies associate degree program, Holden took courses such as: Advanced Legal Research and Writing, Criminal Law, and Digital Communication Strategies.

In these courses, he learned about:

• Utilizing traditional library and Internet resources to perform factual and legal research as well as prepare legal documents such as case briefs, legal office memoranda, and motions
• The rules and principles that underlie and govern criminal law and procedure
• The appropriate formats, styles, and protocols for communicating through various electronic media, including email, fax, social media, and file uploads/downloads; the use of digital communications in various business applications, including marketing, promotion, fundraising, and other processes; and the legal, ethical, privacy, and security implications associated with all forms of electronic communication

In addition to paralegal-specific courses, Holden completed general education requirements such as History of American Government and Written Communications to round out his Associate of Applied Science degree.
