Our Diagnostic Medical Sonography curriculum combines lab work, classroom study, and clinical training to help you build practical experience and confidence. You’ll work with real ultrasound equipment, practice patient interaction, and study the anatomy and physics behind medical imaging.

Most programs are blended, combining scheduled on-campus classes with online coursework. This gives you the hands-on training you need — plus the flexibility to complete assignments at home.
You’ll typically take two classes every five weeks and should plan for 12–15 hours per week of homework and studying. Instructors also offer live virtual office hours for extra support.

Q: Do I need a background check or health screening?
Yes. You’ll need to complete a criminal background check, drug screening, and submit immunization and health records to meet clinical site requirements. These are essential for ensuring patient and workplace safety.
Q: What clinical experience will I get?
You’ll participate in a supervised practicum at a partnering healthcare facility. This experience lets you apply your classroom and lab training in real-world sonography environments.
Q: Can I apply if I already have healthcare training?
Yes. Applicants with prior allied health education may receive additional consideration in the admissions rubric. Previous academic experience can enhance your application and potentially increase your chances of being selected for the program.
Q: What certifications can I pursue after graduation?
Our program prepares you to sit for ARDMS certification exams in specialties such as abdominal and OB/GYN sonography. While certification isn’t required to graduate, many employers prefer or require it.
