By never surrendering, Nikia emerged victorious from our welding program, ready to take on a new career.

What You Learn in a Welding Program

For each graduate of a program, we highlight three different courses. During the program, Nikia took courses such as: Essentials of Welding, Thermal Cutting and Metal Preparation, SMAW Plate Certification, and more.

Welding Instructor Mackey

Would you ever consider becoming a teacher at the school from which you graduated? That's exactly what one of our instructors did. O. L. Mackey—or “Mackey,” as his students call him—is one of Rockford Career College's welding instructors. Mackey teaches all of our welding courses focusing on SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and pipe welding. Before joining the RCC faculty, he worked for Monroe Truck Equipment as a welder. In total, he has eight years of experience in the field.
