We Proudly Present Dental Assisting Graduate Jacqueline Pinedolbarra
DATE On November 16, 2021

Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value. This advice, based on a quote from Albert Einstein, inspired Jacqueline Pinedolbarra to begin a career that would prove valuable in her community.1 After enrolling in Rockford Career College's dental assisting program, Jacqueline studied hard, developed her practical skills, and continually reminded herself that her dream was within reach. We are extremely proud of her for graduating and starting a career serving others.

What You Learn in a Dental Assisting Program

For each graduate of a program, we highlight three different courses. During the program, Jacqueline took courses such as: Dental Care Delivery and Techniques, General Dentistry, and Dental Specialties.

In these courses, she learned about:

  • the principles of four-handed and six handed dentistry, dental instrument use and identification, instrumentation basics, ergonomics, vital signs, handpieces, dental burs, dental dams, assisting in the administration of local anesthesia, and the principles and regulations concerning pharmacology and prescription writing
  • oral histology and embryology, oral pathology, psychology, chairside assisting, and general dentistry with emphasis placed on the clinical recognition, differential diagnosis, and treatment of oral pathologic conditions and associated systemic disorders
  • dental specialties within dentistry, including periodontics, pediatrics, endodontics, orthodontics, and oral maxillofacial surgery

How Our Graduate Became a Dental Assistant

Like Jacqueline, you too could become a dental assistant in just a matter of months and start your career journey in this interesting and necessary profession. As a student, you will have the opportunity to complete a 160-hour externship in a clinical setting. This gives you practical experience before you even graduate! Our faculty and staff are happy to assist you with completing the enrollment process, finding a tutor, connecting with local employers, and much more. The College offers financial aid to those who qualify.
