We Proudly Present CNC and Robotic Manufacturing Technology Graduate Alex Dawson
DATE On March 15, 2022

Alex Dawson took the following quote from John Wooden to heart: “Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.”1 Even though it is impossible to control everything in one's life, Alex knew he had control over his professional future. Through patience and devotion to his craft, Alex successfully earned his diploma in CNC and robotic manufacturing technology.

What You Learn in a CNC and Robotic Manufacturing Technology Diploma Program

For each graduate of a program, we highlight three different courses. During the program, Alex took courses such as: Blueprint Reading, Metrology Techniques and GD&T, Fixture Design and Tooling, and more.

In these courses, he learned:

  • Blueprint reading, geometric dimensions and tolerances, projections, and views
  • Concepts of inspections of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, functional gauges, air columns, positional functional gauges, and CMM verification
  • The functions of fixture design and tooling

This program provided Alex with many opportunities to practice what he learned in the lab. Hands-on experience, such as completing a capstone project in his Fixture Design and Tooling class, allowed Alex to develop the necessary skills for his chosen profession.
