What You Learn in an Animal Welfare Management Diploma Program
For each graduate of a program, we highlight three different courses. During the program, Addison took courses such as: Comparative Animal Anatomy & Physiology, Foundational Principles of Animal Health and Nutrition, and Principles of Shelter Management and Medicine.
In these courses, she learned:
- Medical terminology and cell and tissue structure of domestic species
- The basics of routine healthcare, preventative medicine, nutrition, and common diseases of domestic animals
- Shelter epidemiology and population medicine, the importance of spaying and neutering, and common infectious diseases associated with sheltered populations
These courses prepared her for a bright future serving animals and the community at large.
