Graduate Highlight - Patrick Brown
DATE On March 22, 2019

When you hear the word “creative,” what comes to mind? You might think of painters, sculptors, singers, writers, or actors. However, creativity manifests itself in many ways. Welders also create a very practical form of art. Essential to a plethora of industries, welding is a highly versatile skill that results in useful products and allows businesses to continue operating efficiently. This is why Patrick Brown chose welding for his career.

Following his passion, Mr. Brown enrolled in Rockford Career College's welding program. “I enjoy being creative and working with my hands,” he says. “I really enjoy fabrication and building.” Mr. Brown graduated from the program in July of 2018 and began welding professionally. He is currently employed by Honeywell, where he is being cross-trained in multiple cells (MIG and TIG).

Our welding program is designed to help you find employment doing what you love as quickly as possible. We teach MIG, TIG, Stick, and other welding processes in our American Welding Society-accredited lab and help students prepare for the AWS certification test. In just ten months, you could be ready to begin your career at a company like Honeywell, too. Come in and visit our admissions team and lead instructor Dave to learn more. You don't have to wait until you arrive at campus to see our welding lab, either. Take a virtual lab tour by clicking the link below:
