Are you missing key business opportunities? Are you missing key business opportunities?

Are you interested in preparing yourself for career in business?

Are you already working, but want to accelerate your career progress?

Are you missing opportunities to demonstrate your capabilities to those who might employ or promote you?

If so, you might want to consider our cutting edge program Business Administration. This new program is taking a fresh approach to preparing students for success in today’s highly competitive and rapidly changing business environment.

What’s the Problem with Traditional Business Education?

In the past, a traditional business education was an effective way to prepare you for starting or accelerating your career in an organization. But, today that is no longer the case.

If you ask a business executive or human resource manager what they think of traditional business education, you will get some pretty strong negative reactions.

Intuit cofounder, Scott Cook: “When MBA’s come to us we have to fundamentally retrain them - nothing they learned will help them succeed in an innovative business … nothing.”

Ray Williams in an article in Psychology Today writes: “The problem with many business programs is that they teach ideas, not real life behaviors, and business school professors are chosen by virtue of their ability to publish detailed research, not having had leadership experience themselves. Understanding something intellectually often has little to do with being able to do it. Adult learners need experiences and coaching to turn concepts into leadership behaviors.”

Traditional business programs are often too academic and structured around traditional subjects (i.e. finance, marketing, etc.) rather than practical skills.

What Do You Need to Be Successful in the Today’s Business World?

Employers today expect business graduates to have practical competencies, not theories. You may be asked to: manage a project, initiate a change, conduct hiring interviews, analyze an operational problem, improve a business process, make a persuasive presentation, use a budget to control costs, build an effective team, confront a problem employee, analyze data, set challenging goals, or investigate a sexual harassment claim or a safety problem.

Our Business Administration is a Unique Approach

The Business Administration program seeks to provide a more practical kind of business education. Our program is a series of short, competency-based, on-line programs that can help a student add value to an organization immediately. Rather than doing academic papers, most courses have an Application Project to build practical skills. Over the course of the program students will build a “Portfolio of Projects” that demonstrate their capabilities.

The program can meet the needs of students who are looking to enter the business world or those who are already employed but want to build and demonstrate their competencies to accelerate their career.

The Business Administration program is:

  • Less Theoretical, and More Practical – students learn how to concepts, skills, and tools for handling typical business situations.
  • Less Subject Oriented, and More Competency Based – each course focuses on the behavioral competencies to be developed. A rigorous Competency Assessment and Personal Development Plan is a part of the program.
  • Taught by Experienced Business Managers – the Business Administration program was designed by and will be taught by experienced business managers.
