The program prepares students with the necessary skills and academic knowledge for entry-level positions in computer fields, and exposes students to computer programming, office productivity software, and general information technologies. The program prepares students for entry-level employment in the fields of Computer Systems Engineering, Network Security, Internet Technology & Design and Computer Specialist.
• Computer Specialist
This specialty provides a broad background in many current software packages. It also covers networking and PC repair among other topics. Focus is on preparing students to work in the office environment.
• Computer Systems Engineering
In this track, students are prepared for network administration and basic network security.
• Internet Technology & Design
In this specialty, students learn how to design and maintain Web sites used in commerce. Familiarity is also gained in the installation and operation of Web servers.
• Network Security
This specialty goes beyond systems engineering to include skills in keeping networks secure from unauthorized intrusions.
Help Desk Specialist Diploma
The program prepares students in the area of computer help desk support by providing training in office productivity software, Web page design, network security, and basic repair and networking concepts. Additional skills training includes communications, business fundamentals, and general information technology.
Internet Design Diploma
The program prepares students in the area of Internet design by providing training in various Web page languages, design software, and Internet security. Additional skills training includes office productivity software, communications, and general information technology.
Network Specialist Diploma
The program prepares students in the area of computer networking by providing training in various Microsoft Professional courses with an introduction to security. Additional skills training includes office productivity software, communications, and general information technology.
Software Specialist Diploma
The program prepares the students in the area of computer certification by providing training in various office productivity software and programming languages. Additional skills training includes communications and general information technology procedures.
Microsoft IT Academy Program & Microsoft IT Academy online campus
We have partnered with Microsoft to be a part of the Microsoft IT Academy Program. This assures that our students receive quality instruction from certified instructors. The training material, approved by Microsoft, is designed to prepare an individual to be successful when taking Microsoft certification tests.

Earn the IC3 Certification
This certification is designed for the person who wants a technical certification but does not want to pursue a career in the technical field. The technical certification is a basic, foundational level for skills in basic word processing, spreadsheet, general knowledge of a computer's hardware and operating system. It consists of three separate tests: Computer Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living On-Line.
Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
Rockford Career College provides training in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook designed to address the material that will be covered on each of the respective tests.
Microsoft Certified System Administrator and Engineer (MCSA, MCSE)
These courses teach individuals to manage, configure and upgrade new and existing networks using Microsoft technology. This instruction is provided in a series of individual courses which correlates with the appropriate Microsoft Certification Tests.
It is important that students get more than technical information, they need hands-on training. RCC provides this type of training with practical experience to put that knowledge to work. As a result, we have a higher certification success pass rate (higher than the national average). It is this type of training that makes our students job-ready and valuable to employers.
